Peter Lankas runs art classes at Hudson Street Hum, an arts hub conducting workshops and classes across a wide range of creative processes in the heart of Newcastle.
Hudson Street Hum is located at 7 Hudson Street, Hamilton NSW 2303.
Peter has a Masters degree in Fine Art from the University of Newcastle and over thirty years experience in the process of drawing and painting. He currently teaches painting and drawing at the Newcastle Art School (TAFE) and regularly conducts workshop throughout the Hunter region and the Central coast.

Painting and drawing workshops, which cover a wide range of techniques and concepts necessary to understand and develop the creative process.
Also included, 'en plein air' painting classes: working out doors directly from nature, a tradition made popular by the Impressionists. Painting workshops in solvent free oil painting methods of the Old Masters, painting with completely natural ingredients, without use of solvents (using commercially produced paint) and making paint from natural earth pigments.
All these workshops are suitable for beginners to the advanced. Email for information.

Learn how to draw starting the creative process from beginning or develop your existing process, mediums and concepts. The class covers all concepts of drawing and associated media, graphite, charcoal, pastels, inks, watercolour and gouache, via the development of design elements, colour theory and multiple drawing techniques.
The classes are directed as well as developing a self directed approach to your own creative practice, and are suitable for the beginner through to advanced. These are on a term basis, with some casual availability. Numbers are limited.
Thursday 7:00pm - 9:30pm
A total drawing experience with a life model. Suitable for beginners to the working artist. Learn how to draw using the human figure or develop your drawing skills and concepts. Tuition given in all media where and when required.
